"We've lost our brother." Emomali Rahmon expressed condolences to the Emir of Kuwait
Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the new emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in connection with the death of his older brother, the Emir of Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
«The news of the death of Emir Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah was received with great grief. With the death of this honored political and statesman, we have lost our respected brother, whose worthy humanistic merits have earned him special authority and respect in the region and around the world», - says the telegram.
The head of Tajikistan noted that "thanks to his significant contribution to the development, strengthening and expansion of relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait, the deceased will forever remain in our memory".
Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber As-Sabah died on September 29 at the age of 92. According to media reports, he died in the United States, where he received treatment after surgery.
Sabah appointed his step-brother Sheikh Nawaf as heir to the throne. Previously, he served as the emir while Al-Sabah was being treated in the United States.
