Tajikistan criminalizes use of SIM cards for commitment of terrorism and extremism related crimes
Thursday June 20, President Emomali Rahmon signed a number of laws, including the ones making amendments to the country’s criminal and administrative codes.
The amendments made to the criminal and administrative codes, in particular, provide for preventing illegal connection of SIM cards to telecommunications and use of them for commitment of terrorism and extremist related crimes.
For example, persons who hand over their SIM cards to other persons, who use them for commitment of crimes, will also be brought to justice.
The amendments also determine administrative and criminal liability for such crimes.
The president also signed the laws on craftsmanship and pastures, as well as on amendments made to the country’s laws on inspection of activities of economic entities and granting licenses for some types of activities and to the tax and customs codes.
