Eight textile and clothing producers from Tajikistan are attending the ITMA 2019 Textile and Garment Technology Exhibition, which is beginning in Barcelona, Spain today, June 20.
Nohid, Resandai Qurghon Teppa, Spitamen Textiles, Vahdat, Ortex, Rahimov A.A., Liman, Mehrovar, as well as the Union of Private Sector Development of Tajikistan (UPSDT), will learn about new innovative textile technology trends at the world's largest international textile and garment technology exhibition that will run until 26 June, according to the International Trade Center (ITC).
The organization and participation of the Tajik delegation at this fair was reportedly made possible thanks to the Government of Switzerland through the ITC Global Textiles and Clothing Program (GTEX). ITC local partners will guide the delegation of representatives from the ACT Development Group and Business Consulting throughout the fair.
Saidmumin Kamolov, ITC National Program Manager, believes that technological innovation is a pivotal tool for succeeding in the textile and clothing industry: “ITC has partnered with ITMA 2019 as a supporting organization. Our beneficiaries gain from privileged access to exhibitors and other partners, networking opportunities, and specialized seminars. In addition, ITC also cooperates with the Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre of the Singaporean Textile and Fashion Federation, which will organize guided tours during ITMA.”
Tajik participants believe that participation at this fair will open up new opportunities for them. As expressed by Mirzoqodir Bakaev, Spitamen Textiles Director: “We are thankful for having this unique chance to seek cooperation opportunities with producers of exciting manufacturing technologies, raise our awareness of modern textile processing techniques for advanced materials, meet new partners, and see emerging and sustainable printing technologies. The fair will also serve as a knowledge sharing and networking platform for Tajik textile and clothing business leaders.”
ITMA 2019 is expected to provide an overview of the latest machinery available worldwide, as well as an outlook on future developments. It will also showcase state of the art technology and best practices on how to set up a competitive supply chain. During the fair, ITC will also organize the first exchange of enterprises and associations from all six beneficiary countries i.e. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan from Central Asia, and four Arabic nations including Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco.
ITC believes that participation at international trade fairs provides good opportunities for project beneficiary companies to be competitive in regional markets through the establishment of new business contacts, obtaining information on new modern machinery, and learning more about global market requirements.
ITMA is held once every four years, and serves as a global leading knowledge platform and unequalled marketplace to explore fresh ideas, effective solutions, and collaborative partnerships for business growth.
ITMA 2019 will host 1,600 exhibitors from 46 countries, showcasing their original manufactures over an area of 220,000 m2, and is expecting to welcome 120,000 visitors from 147 countries. The event will highlight the newest advanced technologies and machinery, enable first class networking with key decision makers, influencers and industry experts, and will provide opportunities to learn about global insights, trends, and issues at parallel conferences and forums.
The International Trade Center, supported by the Government of Switzerland, aims to increase the export competitiveness of the Tajik textile and clothing sector by supporting sector companies, and relevant trade support institutions from both public and private sectors.
