Stockton police detain suspect killer of native of Tajikistan
On June 15, a shooting occurred northbound 1-5, south of Louise Avenue in Lathrop, Stockton police reported on June 24. The shooting reportedly resulted in a commercial truck and trailer being driven out of control, off the freeway and colliding into two parked vehicles and a building in Lathrop.The truck driver (Ilhom Shodiyev, 37-year-old father of two from Charlotte, North Carolina) was determined to have suffered one gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported to San Joaquin County Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the shooting. Stockton Police officers reportedly responded to scene and called out CHP Valley Division Investigative Services Unite to investigate the incident. Over the course of the next week, investigators utilized surveillance cameras, witness statements, and help from the public identify a suspect vehicles and subsequent suspect. Search were reportedly authorized and served by CHP SWAT in Manteca on the morning of June 24, with the assistance of the San Joaquin County DA’s Office, Tracy Police Department, Manteca Police Department, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department, and Stockton’s Police Department. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators reportedly arrested Andrew Christopher Watson (29-year-old Manteca resident) without incident on charges of homicide and booked into the San Joaquin County on charges related to the homicide.
