Rahmon reiterates the necessity of increasing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has once again noted the necessity of increasing humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, the Tajik president’s official website said on April 8.
Rahmon reportedly said this here Friday at meeting with Mr. Tomas Niklasson, the European Union (EU)’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan, who was in Dushanbe on a working visit.
In the course of the talks, the parties exchanged views on the current political, military and socioeconomic situation in Afghanistan, which directly affects the security situation in the region.
Rahmon reportedly expressed concern the growing threat of international terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, trafficking in narcotic drugs and weapons as well as cybercrime.
Tajik leader also highlighted the significance of expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and international partners in effectively addressing the mentioned threats.
