A statement released by a MoHSPP on August 3, in particular, says the second agreement on additional financing for the Tajikistan Emergency Covid-19 Project has been signed this year.
In August, 84,000 vulnerable families having children under 7 years old will receive the one-time emergency cash assistance.

Recall, the World Bank in February this year provided another US$12.57 million in grant financing for the Tajikistan Emergency COVID-19 Project in addition to US$8.63 million approved for COVID-19 vaccines. These additional resources has helped further strengthen Tajikistan’s heath care capacity and protect vulnerable population groups in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This project aims at providing necessary support to allow for accelerated economic recovery and the ability to help the country’s most vulnerable households. Thus, one-time emergency cash assistance will be provided to vulnerable households across Tajikistan in order to mitigate the social impacts of the pandemic.
The original Tajikistan Emergency COVID-19 Project, with a total financing of $11.3 million, was approved in April 2020 to support Tajikistan’s response to COVID-19.
