The World Health Organization (WHO)’s emergency committee warned last week that as four COVID-19 ‘variants of concern’ continue to circulate and dominate global epidemiology, it’s highly likely that new ones will emerge and start to spread across the world and those could be both more dangerous and hard to contain.
The coronavirus COVID-19 is reportedly affecting 220 countries and territories.  According to COVID-19 data provided by Worldometer, coronavirus cases around the globe have been reported at 192,274,819 since China reported its first cases to the World Health Organization (WHO) in December 2019.  Of them, 174,960,319 have recovered and 4,133,943 have died.
