Over 50 million somoni - salary debts in Tajikistan
For several months, state employees have been left without money.
Workers of various industries in the republic complain about the late payment of wages, scholarships, vacation pay. The authorities acknowledge the problem, but the lack of finance in the sectors does not allow to resolve this issue in time
Many cultural workers in the Kulyab region are now in an unenviable position. For the last 2 months they have been sitting without a salary; some people have been sent on holidays. Not the best situation among workers of the Kulyab Combine of housing and communal enterprises.
Not only many educators, teachers, cultural workers and students get their money lost. Workers and employees of large industrial enterprises and construction sites in Tajikistan, including TALCO and Rogun HPP, also complained about non-payment of wages.
According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, as of the end of April 2020, the amount of wage arrears in the country, taking into account the arrears of previous years, amounted to 51 million 128.4 thousand somoni (over 5.1 million US dollars), which is 9.4% more than on January 1, 2020.
