‘We are all in the same position,’ says Tajik ambassador to Russia
Tajik Ambassador to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov has commented on the situation with more than 100 Tajik citizens, who were removed from Domodedovo terminal yesterday.
“The situation in Russia, especially in Moscow, has been deteriorating.  The number of people infected with the new coronavirus has increased sharply, and therefore, there is no opportunity to resume aerial communication between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.  The situation here is such that although no curfew is announced, the city is practically already closed,” Sattorov told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the airports have been closed and our citizens should have left the Domodedovo terminal.
“Currently, some of our compatriots are placed in the city, a certain number was taken out and placed in their friends’ apartments,” said Tajik diplomat.  “We will do our best to accommodate and secure them.”
According to him, practically all Tajik citizens trapped in Moscow were brought back to Tajikistan on March 27.  “Currently, there are only 110 our citizens stuck in Moscow and willing to return home,” Ambassador Sattorov said.
“We are all in the same position now.  Movement is impossible, however, the embassy and consulate are functioning.  People can get in touch with the embassy via a hotline that operates around the clock.  If there are scheduled flights, we will notify in advance,” said the ambassador.
