The government extends the term for reregistration of SIC cards with ID-passports again
The Government of Tajikistan has extended the term for re-registration of SIM cards on ID-passports again; this time for two years – until February 15, 2022.  The previously set deadline ended on February 15. 
President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government, has signed a government decree on extending the term for re-registration of SIM cards for ID-passports again for two years – until February 15, 2022. 
Adham Mamourzoda, an official with President’s Executive office, says the head of state has made this decision “for the purpose of supporting the population.”
The previously set deadline ended on February 15. 
According to the government decree “On the Procedure and Requirements for Connecting to Electrical Communication Networks and the Provision of Services Related to It” (dated April 30, 2016), which entered into force on February 15, 2019 all mobile operators subscribers must re-register their SIM cards with ID passport sample 2014.
In this regard, huge queues formed in passport offices.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs had officially announced that it can issue only 50 thousand ID-passports per month.  Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs extended the working day of the passport departments until 22:00, so that citizens had time to re-register their SIM cards until August 15, 2019.
But even less than a half of mobile phone users in Tajikistan managed to reregister their SIM cards until August 15. 2019, and the Government has decided to extend the deadline for re-registering SIM cards on ID-passports until February 15, 2020.
Meanwhile, passports of 1996 sample are valid, no one canceled their validity.  By order of the government, only subscribers of mobile companies must re-register existing SIM cards with ID passports.
