Tajik, Uzbek geologists agree to carry out joint explorations in border areas
Tajik and Uzbek geologists plan joint explorations in border areas, according to the Main Geology Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.
An agreement on carrying out joint explorations in border areas was reportedly reached a joint meeting of the Geology Committees of the two countries that took place in the Uzbek city of Samarqand.
Tajik geologists informed their Uzbek colleagues about the process of digitization of geological maps of Tajikistan M1:200 000 and activities of Main Geology Committee Center of Exogenous Processes.
The meeting participants outlined the main directions of joint works, a source within the Main Geology Committee told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The meeting was reportedly co-chaired by Alimahmoud Alizod, the deputy head of the Main Geology Committee under the Government of Tajikistan and Asroro Rustamov, the head of the Main Directorate for Development Reproduction of the Mineral Resource Base of the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan.
