Seven People Killed in Kabul Car Blast
Nasrat Rahimi, an Interior Ministry spokesperson, said at least seven people were killed and 10 others were wounded in a car bomb explosion in the PD15 area of Kabul on Wednesday morning.
The blast occurred around 7:25 a.m. local time in the Qasaba area in PD15 of Kabul city, Rahimi said
The Ministry of Interior also reported that the target of the Kabul blast was a vehicle owned by foreign security company GardaWorld, and four security guards working for the company were wounded.
Although ministry officials have confirmed the death of one child in the incident, a source told TOLOnews that five children were killed.
The blast also damaged several vehicles in the area, an eyewitness said, and “the victims have been taken away by ambulances.”
A government counter-narcotics office and several foreign NGOs are located at the scene of the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility at this time.
President Ghani’s office in a series of tweets condemned the blast, shared condolences with the victims’ families, and called the action a crime against humanity.
