Emomali Rahmon receives CSTO security council secretaries
On Thursday April 30, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, received Security Council Secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member nations. .
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the meeting participants discussed issues related to addressing modern threats and challenges, including risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, drug trafficking, acute global socioeconomic and financial crisis, and their impact on the national security, and economy, and biosecurity.
Tajik leader, in particular, noted the necessity of expanding cooperation between the Organization member nations with regard to the difficult situation in the international community, aggravation of modern threats and challenges and their impact on the security of the CSTO member nations, rising international tensions due to geopolitical competition and other factors threatening the security and stability of countries, the Tajik president’s official website said.
At the end of the meeting, Tajik leader expressed hope that a session of the Committee of Security Council Secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member nations that is taking place in Dushanbe today will yield fruitful results.
The Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils is the advisory and executive body of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for the coordination of the interaction of member states in ensuring their national security.
