So far only material from Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir and Maidan Wardak has arrived physically to Kabul.
Zabi Sadat, the deputy spokesman for the Independent Election Commission (IEC), said Thursday that electoral materials from 21 provinces will arrived in Kabul today.
Sadat said the electoral materials from 10 out of 21 provinces--which are mostly in the east and southeast-- will be transferred by road to Kabul. The remaining 11 provinces’ electoral materials, which are mostly in south and west, will be transferred by air to Kabul.
Only election material from four provinces, Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir and Maidan Wardak, has arrived physically to Kabul, Sadat said.
According to Sadat the process of transferring election materials must be completed by October 5.
So far, Sadat said, the results sheets of more than 18,000 biometric devices have been sent electronically to the data center.
TOLOnews reporter Anisa Shaheed said that the IT department of the IEC is not happy with the TOLOnews reports, and currently will not allow her to enter the department.
